There are plenty of things to consider before buying a house. Here are some suggestions.
Make sure you can afford your new home and decide on the financial institution and mortgage type before you commit yourself. If you need help, contact Verse Property Group for independent advice.
Lifestyle and life stage
Think carefully about where you’re at right now, how long you expect to be in your next home and how life might change in the future. Are you a newly married couple? Are you intending to start a family? Are you a mature family with children about to leave home? Are you empty nesters but still employed? Or are you looking for somewhere to retire and relax?
Too many young couples with school age children, the location and standard of nearby schools is vitally important. Verse can help you to assess the suitability of local schools.
Research the area
You can find details of house sales in your preferred suburbs by contacting Verse.
Look around
Once you’ve decided on an area, take time to inspect as many relevant properties as possible. This will give you a feel for the suburbs, for house prices, local amenities etc.
Establish a relationship
Your Verse Property Group consultant works for you. He or she is on hand to answer all your questions and alert you to any new listings in your preferred area. We’re not about selling quickly for our sake, we’re all about getting it right for yours.
Making an offer
Buyers want to pay as little as possible. Vendors want to make as much as possible. Somewhere in the middle is a fair market price. You are more likely to be successful if you make an offer which is as close as possible to the fair market price. Your Verse consultant will always provide you with the most appropriate and professional advice.
Once your offer has been accepted by the vendor you will need to appoint a settlement agent to deal with all the legal documentation. Verse can recommend settlement agents who abide by our own code of ethics.
Final inspection
To ensure that the house you are buying is in the same condition as it was when you first saw it some weeks ago, we recommend a final inspection prior to settlement. You may also wish to ensure that the seller has completed any other special conditions that may have been stipulated in the contract and are subject to settlement taking place.
When settlement is completed the keys are handed over and you are free to move into your new home. But, if you still have any queries, be assured the Verse service does not end here.
